Business Model Innovation Workshop
brought to you by Informatics Ventures
Wednesday 15 June 2016
Farr Institute, Craigmillar Room, Nine Bioquarter
Moderator: Paul Devlin, Mercia Fund Management
New data, intellectual and infrastructural assets demand new trajectories for exploitation.
We place proactive business model innovation at the centre of translational research in health informatics, recognising that innovative models can reshape industries and redistribute billions of pounds of value.
In a workshop hosted by Edinburgh Data Science (@EdinDataScience) delivered through a partnership of Informatics Ventures,(@infventures) Mercia Fund Management (@MerciaTech) and discover Edinburgh Health Informatics (@discoverEHI) we will seek to move beyond traditional models for exploitation and co-develop new value propositions. This event will assess key variables; stakeholders, research base, development trajectories, business models, technologies and IPR strategies.
Invitees will be targeted to capture both breadth of expertise (sector, domain area, scope) and maximal potential for impact; building collaborations among academia, industry, and law and policy makers. Delegates will gain the knowledge to build-in forward planning for research exploitation at the earliest stages of technology development and consider new exploitation avenues for existing technologies.
Led by Paul Devlin of Mercia Fund Management, this full day pan-Scotland workshop will bring together PhD students and early career researchers in medicine, science and engineering, and business with representatives of the biotech and pharmaceutical industries as well as law and policy makers.
Registration is free but space is limited so early registration is recommended.
